If someone needed to fix one of there tambour doors it would be worth that price just for parts. That is one thing that we miss on the coach we have now.

It's in your area, Ken. With your beefy coach, you could tow it. Think of all the extra storage you'd have!  :yum:

Before our U300, we bought a 26 footer with a 440 Dodge for $500. The owner's girlfriend died 27 years earlier and it had not turned a wheel since then and had only 23K miles. His sister bought all new batteries for us, filled it with gas/propane and even included her late brother's moped with it. Since it had not moved for 27 years, it bounced like a pogo stick for the first few miles on the way home. Just as I was wondering if the tires were going to come apart, it started to smooth out. By the time we got home, it was great. Had lots of trips to Mexico and Canada with it and after changing to a diesel engine, it was great for several years until our U300 came along. Sure was a convenient size.

$650 makes up for the fuel it will use and now with less than $2/gal gas in some parts of the U.S. you could drive it home from almost anywhere without breaking the bank. The HD 440s found in RVs are good engines without the cracked manifold problems the 383s had. A Carter AFB overhaul brings the mileage up and emissions down.

A friend was given a coach of that age by a customer. Seemed fine until he decided to sleep with his honey in the coach , sort of a drunken " virtual road trip". Things went well until they both were overcome by a very sickly (even though plastered) smell. They bailed, and discovered the next day the coach had sat so long that the local critters had moved in!  I never found out if he ever got rid of the critters AND the smell!  :headwall:

"Look what I bought today, dear"."  A little cleaning-up and we'll be on the road."
