Title: Air drier bypass kit
Post by: amos.harrison on September 17, 2015, 05:39:32 am
Can someone point me to thread which lists the plumbing pieces needed to replace the Haldex Pure Power Plus air drier?

I think all you need is the remanufactured dryer (got ours from NAPA), a couple of electrical butt splices and the correct pipe dope.  You reuse the air line fittings from the old dryer.

Rich,

No, I meant the pieces to bypass the drier if I'm unsuccessful finding one today.

It's on Beam Alarm.  Don't know how to post the link.

Hopefully I can make you at least feel a little better. You can actually drive without your drier until you finally get the one you want. I did that until I found a brand new one on Ebay. Just connect the 2 big hoses together and cap off the 1/4" line coming from the governor and relax. Drain off any water from the wet tank daily and replace the drier at your convenience.

I got the parts from FOT, probably too expensive there, before i knew of a kit or such....i have been forewarned however.  You need a proper big wrench as it takes a goodly effort to disconnect, connect so check your tool kit or find a mechanic if need help to install.

To connect my big hoses together you would need an 8" section of pipe, then unions to the end fittings.

This is what I used. Make sure it's for steel pipe and not high pressure or hydraulic. The bevel is different.
