I am going to try to raise rear height on my U225. Do you think I can put 1 air bag on the top of velvet ride bar?
Loading Capacity at 90 psig: 8,037 lbsf per bag using one on each side? I am trying to avoid buying 2 for each side. I have removed all shims and I am 3.5 inches too low still. Thanks for all your help!
There is a 1995 U240 where he added 4 airbags on EBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Foretravel-1995-102-wide-Non-smoking-rv-motorhome-/301744579487?forcerrptr=true&hash=item464160e39f&item=301744579487). He may have additional information for the procedure.
I am also looking into adding the air bags to my 95 U240. The following post locates the bags on top of the sway bar mount. I like this idea. Precision Metals (Quincy, WA) Airbag mod for U225 and U240 Torsionastic (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=22222.0;all)
Thanks, I revisited that post; and looked at lot closer at the pics this time; and it looks easily doable. I just need to find out what bags to use now...... my back end is at 30" and sagging.
here is instructions for airbags on a safari mh, same velvet ride.http://www.supersteerparts.com/10-600instructions.pdf
20 minutes of exercise every morning will help correct your problem.
That is quite a nice U240 from the looks of it... New rear torsilastic suspension in 2013 as well as the air bags, Girrard auto awning and webasto diesel heating system added, propane tank removed, and full body paint according to the ad. First I have seen these items on a U240... Seems like somebody loved it a lot.
