One of my heating elements in the Dometic fridge died today. Anyone have good source for fridge parts? I seem to find a lot of aftermarket ones but I would like to find original dometic PN 173758038 ones, as these have lasted 16 years.

Jim its a NDR 1282. The elements are (2) 210 watt- 120v. Are you still doing the 4 button t/stats.

Dometic made 2 styles of elements using the 210 watt. The ones made to be wired in parallel are 120 volt AC 210 watt each and all the newer style Dometic now uses is the elements in series. The series wired elements are 60 volts each and 210 watt each. The newer elements wired in series will plug straight to the PC. The older paralleled wired element would have one lead from each element to a connector block and from the connector block to the PC board. This would mean the element had 3 connection which has caused a lot of voltage drop. The newer wired series element there's only one connect.

Here is where I found the electric elements for my Dometic 1492. The owner is very helpful to be sure you get the correct elements. Mine had lost the wire's connection to one of the actual hating elements. I ended up soldering it together. You will need to determine if you have two elements connected in series or in parallel connection to get the correct wattage from him. An ohms check of the remaining good element will help to answer that question, but the owner will know anyway. See the website below or Google the company's phone number.

Thanks Jim, sounds like eather set up will work mine are 120v 210 w in parallel. I don't see any reason one can't do the 60v in series. Thanks
