Title: ADJUSTING THE IDLE WITH THE CRUISE BUTTONS
Post by: Bob in CT on October 08, 2015, 03:24:57 pm
Hello Forum folks. I am a little lazy today and busy. I am in the process of traveling this weekend with the gv320.I started the coach last night and raised the idle up to about 850 to help warm her up(a little chilly in the northeast at night) and I went to return her to approx. 675.No luck with any of the buttons. I know my books would probably tell me, but I need to get this down so the coach does not pull through the stop signs and lights. And I guess while we are at it any thoughts as to what folks are setting the idle at in your coaches . This would be with the Cummins ISM450-500 hp, that's what I have in the 2003 gv320.Thanks Bob

The fast idle will not work in gear. I should say.......it will not go in gear at fast idle. My control is different than yours but I just turn it to "off" to kill the fast idle. The diesel mechanics that worked on the big rigs I used to drive  said to always idle at 1k if parked in order to move the 5 gals of oil through the engine. Whether that is true or not I do not know. But I do.
