Pat and I are headed to MOT later this week. Looking for a recommenation for a clean motel.
Thanks,
Al
We have stayed at LaQuinta in both Nacogdoches and Lufkin. We like these places because pets are accepted. Out of the two, we like the Lufkin more and the drive is worth it. Still, the Nacogdoches LaQuinta is great.

I have stayed at the new Holiday inn behind the LaQuinta and it is pretty nice too but more expensive
Al,
The DW & I stayed with 2 dogs at the LaQuinta in Nac for a couple of weeks while looking for a rig this summer. It was very nice for all of us. Have stayed there 5 or 6 times over the last 3 years. BTW it is well worth the few extra dollars for the suite. Trust me on this one.
On edit: We haven't stayed in the Lufking LQ, so I can't compare. Just know the one in Nac has worked well, and the one in Paris, Tx. is very nice also'

Stayed in Nac on two different occasions in Aug 14. Found the Quality Inn rooms (across from the LaQuinta on Hwy 59) were larger an updated. Indoor pool and fitness center along with a fairly decent comp breakfast. Several guest were staying with pets. Cost was several dollars more but in my opinion well worth it.
I had to stay in a hotel (gasp) by myself (double gasp) in July in Nac for several days while having work done. Hampton Inn. A bit pricey.
Conclusion: Staying in the presidential suite at the poshest hotel in the world couldn't come even close to staying in my Foretravel, making my own grub (triple gasp), eating breakfast in my jammies, .... well, you know.
Might as well sleep under a bridge for free next time. Would be as good as a hotel.
Not real helpful, huh?
If you do decide on staying in Lufkin, and like cajun food-- Ralph and Kackoo's just south of the La Quinta.
Really good.
Just a thought....depends how you want to spend your days.
Lufkin good for shopping, few more hotels. But if you envision frequent trips back and forth To MOT, the traffic on 59 into Nac can be a bottleneck at times (not like a big city but we of the small town traffic gripe about that area of construction). I would select Nac just due to drive and assume i would want to got out to MOT several times a day.
I know many sports fans stay at hotels on south side of Nac, none voiced complaints i recall. And if want closer to MOT, i think Miz Dani stated at Best Western on loop near MOT......too bad you cannot stay in your coach. I have work guests often in town that elect Nac over Lufkin but they just see it as place too stay, do job and return to Austin.
Will send you pm with phone if want talk, maybe lunch one day.
Thank you folks for the information. Looking forward to our visit to Nac and maybe a new to us FT. I have been reading the posts for well over a year, the information and support is top notch.
Thanks again,
Al and Pat
We are keeping our fingers crossed for you, two. Try not to be overwhelmed. There are soooo many options to choose from. It will be such fun for you, though. Good luck and safe travels.

Lynn and Marilyn, Yes, overwhelmed. Take a deep breath and one step at a time. Exciting, yes. Thanks.
