I'm in the process of lubing my chassis (first time for me).
I've been able to find most of the lube points but do need some guidance on finding:
Steering Gear Input Shaft--I think it is tucked up high above the front Drag Link lube point but would like some confirmation.
Steering Column Extension (3 fittings)--I think these must be accessed from the front left genny door but I can't find any zerks. Any pointers on where to find these?
Note: I do know all about the cautions for the correct grease for the brakes.
Thanks,
Rich
You might look in the beamalarm site. I think Barry has a couple of illustrations on there but I don't exactly recall where they are. We found that we had to use a flexible grease fitting to get at some of them.

Yes, I have the page from my owners manual and have checked Barry's site. Still need to find those two locations.

Rich,
Here is a couple of pics. The first is taken of the U joint that is just above the steering gear box. As you can see it is hid behind the cables and hoses. It has one in it. There is another one his in the same area but only visible from below. (we can't get you a pic of that because of our location) Our other one is hid behind the plastic cover on the top part of the steering column, once you unsnap the cover you can see the U joint that has the other one. This is our 2nd picture even though you can't see the grease fitting it is hid there. Be very cautious in greasing this one as too much here can create a big problem. We usually leave this one alone as it isn't exposed to the environment, if it looks the least bit oily I would leave it alone until you need to pull the column.
I hope these are what you are looking for, yours may be different as you have an '02 and ours is a '97

Pamela and Mike,
That's exactly what I needed for the steering column.
Thanks,
Rich
Thanks from me also, I have never found the fitting underneath or the one just under the steering wheel.
i learn, often, from this site.
Note: because these steering column U joints are pretty protected and under minimal stress, IMO lubing once every year or two is find.
Yes, more often on the bottom one if driving on salted roads, etc.
