Title: Taytronics Inverter Help
Post by: Irwin on December 03, 2015, 03:00:19 pm
I am looking for the remote switch assembly or a schematic for the remote switch hookup for a Taytronics 1-1500 inverter. Thanks in advance.

This really should be posted in Foretravel Tech talk - I have the 1500 Owners and Service Manual, and can post a scan of it after work...

Here is the PACS 1500 inverter manual which I think is the same as the Taytronics 1500 inverter. The 3rd page is how the inverter is wired into a 1991 U300 Foretravel, which may be of some help.

Peter,

Thanks for the diagrams and manual.  I have a Taytronics 1500 which has been inoperable since I bought the coach.  The remote panel comes on, but when I push the reset button on the remote panel the light goes out but no power to the outlets.  I've checked underneath for 12v coming in to the inverter but no 110v power coming out.  Checked the on switch and the fuse but no luck.  Is there any other way to check the unit for operation or is it probably shot?  The PO had to replace the generator and transfer switch.  Maybe there is another fuse or relay to look at?

Jerry:

I think I would check to make sure the low voltage (24V) plug is securely plugged into the inverter, and all 24V wires are good at the inverter plug and switch panel and relay box. When I hit the reset button on mine, there is an audible click in the relay box under the bed, and circuits 2 and 5 light up.

You mentioned no 110V coming out of the inverter, this may well mean the inverter is bad. If you can't get it going I would advise upgrading to a pure sine inverter. Even though my OEM inverter is still working, it wouldn't run my Keurig coffee machine  :o , so I put in a pure sine wave inverter and am real happy with it.

Irwin,

Here are the important pages out of the Taytronics I-1500 manual.  I will get the remainder scanned when I have time, and finish uploading them here, in case they are helpful to any other members.

Here is the "trouble shooting" section.  The rest of the so-called owner's manual is pretty worthless.

Thanks Peter I'll try it.  The PO on my coach couldn't tell me what happened to the original generator and transfer switch.  My guess is the inverter is toast also.

Thanks Irwin, Chuck and Peter,

Installed the inverter sent to me from Irwin via Chuck.  All is good and both circuits are working.  Got the click from the relay box when I pushed the reset button.  Tested good on the Microwave, outlets, and TV.  I have a Keurig K-10 and it worked just fine.  Hot coffee on demand or crock-pot cooking when traveling.

I'm a happy camper!

Jerry
