Title: Levolor push button shades.
Post by: craneman on January 16, 2016, 12:04:30 pm
Are the push button Levolor shades factory on a 1999 U320? I have 2 that won't stay up and have Googled trying to repace them and cannot find any like these. Forum search didn't show any repair or replacement other than the new type of roller shade.
Thanks,
 Chuck

On mine I have the standard manual day/night shades.  A little higher quality than what went in my winnebago but the same otherwise.  Not Levelors

Thanks for the reply.
Not having any info on the coach from PO and records stop in 2005 makes it hard to know what came with and what was retrofitted on our FT This is what the blinds in question look like

Those do not look stock (compared to mine).

If there is a problem staying up, it probably just needs to be restrung. There are kits on Amazon and a gazillion YouTube videos.

Hope this helps,

Trent

Craneman, just googled the levelors and it seems there have been many problems with that type and they have a lifetime warranty, so I would suggest get hold of levelor and see if they will replce or refund. I realise you did not buy them but worht a check to see if they will honour product.

Thanks for the info
I Googled and got the same complaints, didn't catch the lifetime warranty though. They have been discontinued so I don't know how they would handle it. I know they won't give a refund without some kind of receipt and all the reviews complain about how long it takes to get them repaired. Now that I know it came with day-night shades that is what I will do if the problem gets too annoying. The problem is in the springs at the bottom inside the bottom rail where the push button is. I took one apart today and rewound the 5 springs and have one working again.

Great, I too like to take things apart and try to fix as I usually ccome up with a better idea of how to keep it working right. I find it is usually due to a cheap design instead of a good old solid design and material.
Keep going .
