Title: Relay panel for Aquahot
Post by: Chuck Pearson on February 05, 2016, 03:16:57 pm
I'm trying to help my sister diagnose the aquahot in her coach.  They are currently enroute from Tx. to Pismo Ca., where they will be for a couple months.  There is a zone not working...the front unfortunately.  Searching the forums, it appears a relay could be loose, something within their capabilities of fixing if it can be located.  I do know the aquahot is behind a panel between fuel tanks and large bay (99 320).  Does anyone know if the relay panel is located in this area also, and how can it be identified?

If any roving aquahot techs might be in this area of Ca., she would like to hear from you.  Thanks, Chuck

Chuck,

The 3 relays should be just behind the main (stainless) cover. Once you remove the cover (a couple of Philips headed screws) they should be right in front of you close to the top of the unit.  They can vibrate loose and all you need to do is completely remove the relays one at a time and re seat them. (I like to remove them to make sure that you can get the spades lined up properly)

Chuck Have you contacted Rudy?  I'm quite sure he would assist - even long distance.  :D

Mike has it right.  I might add, take a proper operating zone relay and put it where the problem one was.  If the problem moves with the relay, there is the source of the problem.

The relay very rarely fails.  I like one being loose suggestion best.

Also, if the unit hasn't been used for awhile it could be a stuck valve for that zone. A tap on that line with a screwdriver handle could un stick it. Just a thought.

Art's Mobil Service is the guy for fixing the AH. He is based in the Pismo Beach area and is a commerical member here who owns a FT. I use him for service when we are there.
