Does anyone use a car hauler to transport a vehicle, if so I would love to hear your thoughts? I normally pull my RAM 2500, but occasionally we would like to take my wife's car and it is not towable. Also, are there any problems in loading and unloading a car that sits lower to the ground?

Are you talking about a (2-wheel down) tow dolly, or a open trailer (with towd completely off the ground), or a completely enclosed trailer?
I believe all three methods are used by various forum members, who will soon chime in.
We pull a Kar Kaddy SS tow dolly - we're very happy with our arrangement.
We also use a Kar Kaddy SS towing the Prius..Excellent unit.. Very happy with it. :D

Search ForeForums for "trailer" and "Neal trailer". There is a lot of information available. A car's low ground clearance is usually not a problem. A car with shallow approach and/or departure angles will more likely present a problem. High quality enclosed car haulers usually require window or fifth door vehicle access and egress. Lower quality trailers with vehicle access doors/low interior wheel well sills can be problematic in many ways. Tongue weight, shortest possible overall length, CCC, axle and tire capacities are critical considerations.

We have taken cars with us every way possible and vastly prefer a 24' Featherlite enclosed car hauler. But one must be physically fit to accomodate this particular choice.

I have towed many cars, and cars with low ground clearance should be on a dove tailed trailer which means the rear of the trailer is angled down or long ramps are needed so that the car doesn't bottom out going on. Also if the trailer is enclosed a side door on the drivers side should be there so that the car door can be opened to be able to get out. Next the drivers door needs to be able to clear the inside wheel well of the trailer, this can be done buy putting a wood 2x12 along the floor to raise the car so the door clears the wheel well. The trailer should have rings to tie the car down. All other safety items brakes, lights etc. should be there as well. Open car trailers are easier but don't offer the protection and enclosed one does. Hope this helps.

Remember, what are you going to do with the trailer after you get to your destination? That is why I opted for Kar Kaddy; it is somewhat collapsable, and kind of easy to move around(on a hard surface).

Installed a "hitch" on the Prius and after unloading we tow the Kar Kaddy to its resting area.
Same here! We have even made short moves (across town) by me driving the coach, and the DW driving the Kia, pulling the empty Kar Kaddy. However, she's not crazy about that routine, cuz it bounces around and makes loud noises when pulled without a load. 8)
