We're bringing home our Foretravel today. How do you all organize your kitchens/pantry area? Pictures would be great if you have them.
Thanks,
Deb
Hi Deb! How fun, a new to you FT and all the things to figure out. There are exactly as many ways to do this as there are Foretravels, actually more because most of us rearrange stuff several times until we settle in on one arrangement and then do it again. You will too.
Pots and pans are an issue. Here is a nice seven piece nesting set
Amazon.com: Magma 7 Piece Induction Cook-Top Gourmet Nesting Stainless Steel... (http://amazon.com/Magma-Induction-Cook-Top-Stainless-Cookware/dp/B00B99RJHS/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1457284652&sr=8-12&keywords=magma+cookware)
Or a ten piece set with ceramic coating (we have this one only because of the coating, for us the 7 pc would have been plenty)
Amazon.com: Magma Products Gourmet Nesting 10-Piece Induction Stainless... (http://smile.amazon.com/Magma-Products-10-Piece-Induction-Stainless/dp/B00IB39K1S/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1457284652&sr=8-7&keywords=magma+cookware)
They store in a very small space. Get the felt pot protectors that go between the pots while stored.
Amazon.com : Magma Products No-Skid 3-Piece Pot Protectors Set, Grey :... (http://amazon.com/Magma-Products-No-Skid-3-Piece-Protectors/dp/B00IBM0LQW/ref=pd_bxgy_200_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1XNP7A19T4580755R0D6)
I am guessing you have the L shaped kitchen. The drawers in the L part are only 20" deep and there is room for at least 30". Three thirty inch drawers is like another drawer and a half. A worth while change.
In the big bottom drawer in the L section we added a sliding tray at the top for small stuff. All of the drawers have dividers of one sort or another to keep stuff organized. Silverware and knives in the top drawer in the L section. We store plates and bowls in the second drawer in the L section. Cut a round piece of fabric to put between each to keep quiet.
In the first drawer under the cooktop we have the nested pot set, mixing and cooking bowls, collander (some of these are the collapsable silicon ones). In the big drawer under the cooktop I added a front to back divider. One side hold the cutting board and racks. The other has the electric tea pot, the coffee equipment and the toaster.
You will discover quickly what you brought that you don't need and what you should have brought. Some of us are cooks some are bakers, some outdoor grill enthusiasts. You will figure it out.
Thanks Susan. Great suggestions. I had our Born Free motorhome pretty well organized, but the Foretravel is set up differently and much more room. I'm sure I'll rearrange many times, but nice to hear what others have found useful for them. I lined most of the kitchen drawers with yoga mats on the trip home. I had read that they are thicker, don't slide around as much and are cheaper than shelf liner. I need to buy some more mats to finish the rest of the drawers.
How long have you had the nesting pans? Have you been happy with them. I've been eying them for awhile.
Deb
Hi, Deb! Congratulations on your new Foretravel! What an exciting time! I have an appreciation for your kitchen organization question, as I, too, had the same question. Here is a link to when I posted a few years back. I think you will find the responses and all the pictures helpful. ^.^d

Stuff in the drawers,
Roger
We don't have the washer/dryer installed and instead we have some pull-out shelves in the buffet area - we keep small appliances and large condiments, among other things :)

We have three of the can storage pull-outs. They're a bit overstuffed, and not very well organized, but you get the idea:

We gained quite a bit of storage around the fridge when we switched out the OEM Dometic for a marine fridge:

Thank you all. This is really helpful.
Technically not the kitchen, but I just put this drawer unit above the washer/dryer. I'm planning to put jeans, sweatshirts and bulkier items there.
This is a great thread! I see the pride that folks take in there home on wheels and it just validates for me that I'm ok. I read the post of the news paper article where a local politician basically said that people who live in motorhomes are dirt bags. For some reason that really bummed me out. (I got over it)
My coach and most of the coaches I've been in are spotless and well cared for by decent people. WE are good people!
Sorry.. I didn't mean to hijack the tread..
As you were decent people.
