Title: Kvh R1 In Motion Satellie
Post by: Lucky1 on March 13, 2016, 01:25:38 pm
Considering switching to this, mounting closer to front of the coach and switching to DISH.  Currently dish is over the bedroom and it makes too much noise to sleep.

Any thoughts, reviews or suggestions?

Sorry about that.  Tried to be more clear in my thread title (a problem I often have). Hope this helps.

Have the TracStar SV360 in motion system mounted over the bedroom so I'm not sure if your problem might be the same.  When first owned the coach one night when we went to bed it sounded like a bunch of rodents running around on the roof, ended up going up top to eliminate them and found the noise coming from under the sat dome.  With the system on and even though it had locked in on the satellites (we use Dish) it would continue to search.  Called the company and it was just a matter of putting it into sleep mode by pressing the START/STOP button off and right back on.

Thank you Gary and or Jeannie!  That sounds exactly like my problem and will give it a whirl.  Might owe you a cold beverage or 30.

I had the same system, issue and resolution. Do you have Direct TV? The previous owner removed the DTV tuner so we just have over the air channels. I'm hoping I can just plug a DTV tuner in and be good to go?

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff...coaxial cable from the satellite into the Direct TV receiver and hdmi cable if you have high definition TV or coaxial cable to the TV.  Since previous owner used Direct TV depending on the region of the country they were in and you are in most likely you won't have to go through the set satellite menu, however, if you do its simple

To access the set satellite menu

1. Press the arrow button under Display Select
2.  Set satellite display will appear with current satellite service and location blinking
3.  Use the + or - button that corresponds to the service you subscribe to ( example DTV101 or Dish119 and so on)
4.  Select the correct service, press the ENTER button to input change.  If you do not press enter button service selection will remain at the previous selection

I do have Directv and other than the noise it works fine.  See Gary's excellent summation on set-up.

I agree, after sat locks on signal, quick press on "on" button stops it searching. You can leave it in this mode and it will work fine, unless you move the coach.
