I need to put antifreeze into water system for storing coach in freezing weather. Foretravel tech said to diconnect the line from the tank to the pump and put fos e fitting on imput side of pump and hose will pull in antifreeze when pump is activated. But there is another line joining the water line from the tank and this goes to black plastic gizmo with a T Handel and a water line that connects to the output line of the pump and has a 1/4 clean hose that goes up through the roof of the bay. Any idea what this is?
Welcome to the Forum, Skillagalee!
A big part of our "service" here is answering questions and helping members diagnose problems. We usually have to do this remotely, rather than being able to stand there beside you and peer directly at the questionable "thingamajig".
It is very helpful for you to post photos when you ask questions. "A photo is worth...well...a lot, in terms of time saved".
I bet if you take a couple pictures and post them here, somebody will immediately be able to identify the "black plastic gizmo".
In addition, perhaps you could update the coach information in your signature? This also makes answering your questions easier.
A "black plastic gizmo" with a handle on top and water lines going to it sounds like the fill valve.
Does it look anything like this? :

Note that one is in a 2003 U320. As Chuck suggests, having your coach in your signature helps us answer questions more accurately :-)
Yes that is it. Exactly. Which fitting is best to undo to put in the antifreez
Good morning skillagalee....great to have met you, hope you enjoy your new 2003 u320. Beautiful coach...imagine been visiting with Big Agnes? Bet she has lot to tell Skillagalee.

Good luck, congratulations on new coach!
Yes it is a 2003 u320. Build no 6064. What is the black thing in the picture that is tied into the water line from the tank and the pump?
Jim,
I've marked up the picture that Michelle posted. The red arrow points to the output from the fresh water tank. It looks really tight there and installing a tee to input the antifreeze would be difficult. The blue arrow points to your water pump. The green arrow points to your soft "anti-noise" hoses.
I think the easiest place to tap in would be to disconnect the soft hose from the end furthest away from the water pump (on the input side). Then rig up some adaptors to fit the hose to the antifreeze. After that just open facets inside the coach to get the water pump to circulate the antifreeze through the coach. With the aqua-hot you will need a lot of antifreeze!
If push comes to shove you can drive over to Dakota Ridge RV park get a spot for a few days. You will have have full hook-ups there and there is a mobile RV service guy you can have come out and help you. You could even call Dakota Ridge and ask who the service guy is and call him to come help you. Would be worth the bucks to have him help set up the adaptors and train you on winterizing the coach.
Glad you guys made it home ok. Heard you handled Raton pass like a champ. If you need anything give me a call.
see ya
