Title: Dan's leveling problem after Perry
Post by: Michelle on March 24, 2016, 09:26:25 pm
Today in Pigeon Forge, been to Stone Mountain, Rock City, Ruby Falls.  Have an air leak in front of coach Part of HWH system.  Been there for last 500 miles.  Air gauges both over 100.  Hard to level but finally done.  Looked at Leesmith in Chattanooga but after going to their shop and poor attitude to help passed on them Called Tennessee RV in Knoxville but cannot work me in for a week.  Decided to let it go as all functions are normal except leveling.  Repair when I get back to Texas.  However may see if Classic coachworks in Lebanon can take a look as We will in Nashville on Monday night.

Starting a topic for Dan in Tech Talk...

Dan, please describe the problem in more detail - what is the leveling system doing or not doing?  Do you hear a leak and if so can you describe roughly where it's coming from?

Tks:  The air coming out appears to be in the middle somewhere around the front tanks. Raining here so hard to get under.  Must have engine running for air to come out. No leak after leveling but turned off aux compressor as it was going crazy. Dan

One possibility:  Faulty pressure regulator for front HWH manifold.

Problem is that so far no one seems to have any parts.  If it is the regulator could go by Tenn RV and pick one up.  LeeSmith in Chattanooga was useless even though on the old list of repair places for FOT.

Dan,

IF it is the pressure regulator, you can replace it with one from Lowe's or Home Depot.  Look in the "air compressor" department.  It will look something like this:

Shop Kobalt Mini Air Regulator at Lowes.com (http://www.lowes.com/pd_221026-47120-SGY-AIR5JH_0__?productId=50126536)

I carry an air regulator so I have one. Same as step and slide regulator. Does any one know what pressure to set it on?

65 psi, IIRC.  I did not RC, search of the forum for front air regulator pressure shows 60 psi.

We've been running a Kobalt regulator from Lowes in that location for at least 6 years with no issues.
