Title: Counter Top Drop-Leaf Extension Ball Catch
Post by: Travelin' Man (RIP) on April 11, 2016, 05:13:32 pm
Has anyone put a heavier duty catch (or a different type catch) on their drop-leaf counter top extension?

My OEM one won't stay latched when going around a right-hand turn.  I have adjusted it until it's really
tight but it still won't hold.

T-man,

No I haven't, but I sure need to replace the table catch.

The thing is a real PITA.

I've spent some time studying it and it's not going to be an easy fix, unless someone has prior knowledge.
It's fine on the highway but when in a city or town where the turns are 90 degrees the weight of the extension
pulls it free of the catch.

I've considered using a short piece of coat hanger to stick through a hole drilled through the entire catch
assembly, removing it when I want to raise the drop-leaf.
