Could not turn on - dropped it down, discovered pwr supply unplugged from wall socket(via nephew). Don't understand why pwr supply used when coach has batteries? Lots of electronics aboard powered by separate supplies?? This(that we thought) was the tv turned out to be just a monitor. We still have not found the tuner! The monitor is XO Vision GX 2024. Could this be what Foretravel installed? Is the tuner in the Jensen radio unit?
Finally got the monitor hangin' on the ceiling again - now gotta figure out to hook things back up...Installed an omni directional, over the air antenna, that is now sending signal to the rear tv and most likely to the front(IF we can find it!).
I'm sure I am not the only one that knows what a hassel it is to find where wires and cables go to in these things!
Jim
No you're not! I get frustrated every time I start tracing TV's, radios, Bose speakers, etc. I don't mind wrenching as long as I know what I'm doing, but I hate guessing and getting lost in a blind alley.
Glen
The 110 VAC receptacle where the TV is plugged in can run off the inverter.
The monitor uses 12+ dc....
Unlikely this was used for television, with just 2 video inputs it could be used for satellite or DVD VCR playback. I have not seen a straight digital television tuner stand alone.
The only thing we used it for before disassembly was to play a dvd in the jensen and we were able to switch it to that monitor. We were completely green about this motorhome. Still do not know how to operate the satalite tv antenna system...the PO must be on the road, cannot get him on the phone. finally made sense of the tv antenna switches9as far as which cable goes to the rear Visio tv. still do not know where the tuner is for the front monitor.
The PO went thru things before I brought it home - BUT, I have an 82year old brain( or what little is left of it! Guess my next step is pull the Jensen to see if it has coax going to it? What a way to learn how my coach works!
Jim
If you have a satellite antenna you will need to have a subscription with either Dish Or Direct TV to use it. I am fairly sure that is what went to the other video input.
The PO just called me! I told him we cannot find the front tv. He said there isn't one - just the monitor that has to be used with the sat. antenna. Told him that after about five days, that's what we figured. Now I gotta get pwr to the sat antenna and a subscription...or see if I can move my Dish box out to the coach.
Jim
What type of antenna do you have? If it the old style crank up it gets its power from the receiver. If you have the dome there will be a switch for it.
It is a self aligning antenna and we did see one of the pwr supplies that (I think) around 24v out. Figured that is what powered the motor? Will not hook it up until sure...
Jim
Look for a manual for it. The power stays hooked up and a switch sends it searching.
We installed and are now using an omni direction "thru the air" antenna. Only rec three channels from Cookeville, TN down here in the holler - can only watch one at a time, but ain't gonna be in th' holler forever!! Gonna hook the lil' amplifier that comes with the antenna to the houwe battery so's don't have to use the umbilical or run th' genny...
Don't need no steenkin' satelite system! One less bill to pay.
Jim
Don't blame you, we see a lot of coaches with "thru the air" antennas. The only reason we have DISH is A) My addiction to NASCAR, and B) DWs love for TMC black & white thirties films. ^.^d
If you need another separate digital tuner for the front monitor, you might consider one of these Magnavox units (link below). We have one in the house, and one in the coach - really like them. They have a great tuner, play and record DVDs, and record OTA stations to Hard Disk. They come with either 500GB, 1TB, or 2TB hard disk.
