I am now settling into my '99 40' U320. There are a couple of switches beneath the range whose labels are gone.
Can anyone help me identify their purposes?

The one with the light on it might be the water pump, the other may be valance or accent lighting.
These are my switches under the stove. The one on far right is my mystery switch.
Our coach has a dual heating intstant hot water dispenser on the countertop. I think my unlabeled switch is the 12 volt side of it
The other may be a spare, like this:
The one with the light is for the water pump, the one on the right for me, is for the ice maker.
Aha! The water pump! Since the tank is empty I'm glad I asked on that one! Thank you very much - making label now.
The mystery switch must be for the "cone of silence"... as in The Chief's office for those old enough to remember. Picture a certain red sunbeam convertible, a shoe phone and assorted unique quirks.
Since it's now my coach, would you believe it's for the cat silencer?
;)
The "mystery switch" on our's would make sense as we have neither wash/dryer or icemaker, which would be in that area.
Rich, have you contacted the previous owner? Might want to do that before turnjng on the cat silencer.
A similar switch in our coach is for the 120VAC heater on the "instant" hot water heater that provides small volumes of very hot water for coffee or tea. When I turn the switch on or off, I can hear the faint "tink" of a relay. There is another similar switch that controls the 12VDC heater on the same "instant" hot water unit.
Mike,
The switch to the right of the step and porch lights on ours has a green light which is always on. It turns on/off one of the ceiling lights in the middle of the coach. They are all above the "salesman switch."
I assume the green light is on to tell you which switch to push to get lights in a dark coach.

On our '99 36 ft 320 the right hand switch is the valance lighting. Try it a night.
In my 2002 U320 those two switches control valance lighting and the under counter lighting.
Hi, Rich,
If you have the wiring diagram for your coach, you might want to check what circuit the switch is wired to. Our coach also has a mystery switch (with green light) below the stovetop. In our coach, all the wiring to each switch is labeled with a letter that corresponds to the wiring diagram and the switch wiring is labeled "C", which is supposedly wired to three circuits. One of them should be for instant hot water, but we don't have that system installed (at least I can't find it!). When pushed, the green light comes on, but I can't hear anything happen. I have resigned myself to not knowing for sure what the switch if for. Good luck with your mystery!

Bill,
The PO bought the coach without its manuals. Apparently the coach had been consigned, and someone who checked it out before he did took the manuals and never returned them.
He accumulated some stuff, most importantly a '99 Foretravel manual, but that is pretty general and by no means complete.
I finally asked him about the one mystery switch to the far right beneath the range, the one without an indicator light. He said to turn it on around dusk. It created a nice glow from under the valences in each window. Mood lighting I guess. Very nice!
So now as far as I know I am down to only 1 mystery switch (and several lights that are not working). The mystery switch is at the end of the overhead cabinet by the door. If you were entering the coach, and at the bottom step turned up to your left, right there on the end of the cabinet is an unlabeled switch. I have not been able to see any effect that switch has on anything. Could be one of the overheads that don't work - I dunno. Hoping to find out this weekend when I do a PDI with Brett Wolfe.
Step by step...
Rich
That turns on the first overhead light as you enter the motorhome. Our motorhomes are same year and same model.
That makes perfect sense. Now I'll have to see about replacing a few overhead bulbs for lights that aren't working and see where it goes from there.
Thanks!
Rich,
On my coach, that switch controls the overhead light closest to the front of the RV (fairly close to that switch).
Trent
Rich, It's the same as Craneman and Tulsa Trent on our coach. ^.^d
Hi, Rich,
Our coach also did not have any manuals when we purchased it. The dealer where we bought the coach was able to order a replacement manual from Foretravel just for our coach. I'm not sure if it includes everything the original had, but it does have all the wiring, plumbing and air diagrams. It was not cheap ($150.00), but I felt it was well worth it. Something you may want to look into.
Bill
Sign (below) was observed and photographed (date unknown) at FOT by one of our members. I do not know if the prices are still current.
Bill,
I just ordered the set in .pdf format - searchable!
For $50, I could not ask for better than that - THANK YOU!
Rich
We have a winner! Correct on both counts - and I blew right past the answer. I guess the little light bulb in my head didn't think to flip that switch after dark until someone actually told me to do it!
