Title: Polychute
Post by: Tom Endres on May 04, 2016, 11:26:10 am
Has anyone purchased a polychute sewer hose?
If so can you tell me if it will fit on the OEM Foretravel sewer connection or does it need to be modified?
Thanks in advance.

Darrell,

Does the 2007 you have use the same white Thetford connector on the coach that Tom's 2002 (and our 2003) has as OEM?  I believe that's where Tom's question comes from.  Most RVs have a Valterra connector; some higher end like Foretravel used Thetford which is a different size.

Did not know that. Not sure what is on mine, it is black not white. How do I tell the type?

I'd have to look up the diameter difference, but if it's black there's a high probability it's the standard Valterra size.

If regular, off-the-shelf sewer fittings from Camping World fit the coach-mounted, fixed connector, it's Valterra.

Hate to modify after spending $150.

Unfortunately the manufacturer of our hose is no longer making the hose. Essentially, we are out of business. You may find a suitable alternative at http://www.drainmaster.com, their product is similar to the Polychute.

For what it is worth, sometimes to connect the fittings you think you have to remove a fitting from the coach due to it being the wrong connection. You can go to a plumbing supply house and buy a special drill bit that will drill out the old fitting so a new one will slide in just as if the old one was never installed. Jim Busby
