Title: Retarder joystick inoperable
Post by: BamaFan on May 11, 2016, 10:22:22 pm
We traveled some very rough road west of Barstow, CA on Hwy 58 and now my retarder works only through the brake pedal. I think the problem is probably that the connector has come loose so I think I can fix it. I have searched for information on how to access the retarder connection but haven't found anything.

How do you lift the panel under the joystick? My coach is a 01 U320. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Paul,

If I remember correctly, it is just a press fit.  I think I'd try to take the whole panel out first.

I think I would take out the little screws holding complete panel down. Then lift and flip it all over to check connections.

Rich,

I think you are probably correct. There are no screws except in the HWH leveling and slide room control panels. I was just trying to confirm that. Thanks

We have a small screws on back side of ours that holds it in place.  Have to bend around the drivers seat.

edit, if you are just pulling the retarder switch then that does just lift out, but your comment was re- the Joystick!!
