We are at home for the first time in 5 months since our purchase. We live 50 ft from saltwater on the bay. I know that I need to get a jump on corrosion control. I will be doing the bulkheads myself based on Brett's recommended process.
My question is what you would go after first based on your own experiences. I have searched and read the forums 11 pages on corrosion but not sure what the priority should be. Picking up Loctite and CorrosionX. Insight is always appreciated...thanks
George,
CorrosionX is for metal surfaces that will not be painted and/or those that could use lubrication. CorrosionX must be removed before painting.
Ospho (a brand of dilute phosphoric acid) is for corrosion protection on metal surfaces that will be painted. Ospho is a primer and the surface would need a finish coating.
My experience with Loctite is for fasteners that you do not want to come loose.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Rudy
The Loctite I was going to use I think is called Endure. Thanks on the CorrosionX and I will limit to electrical areas.
Here is something being used on the TX coast by the RV detailers, when they are washing coaches.
