Title: Foretravel Inspection in Dallas,Texas area.
Post by: Dave & Danette on May 16, 2016, 09:17:50 am
Are there any Foretravel inspectors in the Dallas area? I may be interested in a coach down there, depending on the inspection report. Also what does it cost for an inspection? Does Foretravel do inspections? Seller might allow it to be taken there for inspection.
Thanks
Dave

Paging Brett Wolfe. If he is available I wouldn't use anyone else. I purchased my coach around his schedule.  ;D

Thank you, for the information. I'm just in the preliminary stages of checking this coach out, I'll probably go down this weekend to do my own inspection. Was hoping to find someone familiar with Foretravel, if I decide to purchase it. These coaches seem to sell to sell pretty quick!
Thanks,
Dave D.

Is the one you are interested in located in Scurry?

Well, Jury is still out on this one. Having trouble finding someone to insure a salvage title. 2005 U270, that's been rebuilt. Looked like it could be a promising deal, if it passed an inspection. Anyone have experience with salvage titles? Normally I'd run for the hills, but this looks like it's worth some due diligence.
Thanks,
Dave D.

That one is just down the street from me. Had the same issue no full coverage. Decided it was better to buy non salvage than self insure against damages with a salvage title.
Talked to a few people that stated they have full coverage on salvage titles. Maybe it varies by state or something. But a no go here in Texas with the insurance companies I talked to.

Have you looked at it? Any info? I'm checking around on insurance. But if I can't get full coverage, that's a deal breaker.

I looked at it, I couldn't find anyone who would do anything but liability on it. That was back in February.
There is a thread on here that shows photos of it after the damage was done. It was sitting at the Fortravel factory when they took the photo.

Thank you, for that information. I found the pictures. It looks like a lot more damage than I was led to believe.

You might try Blue Moon RV in Carrollton ... I don't know if they do inspections but either the owner or his brother use to be the Service Manager at the Foretravel Service center in Garland when they still had factory stores.  I've used them several times for repairs when I can't get down to Nac.
