Title: Chafe strip
Post by: Falconguy on May 18, 2016, 02:45:37 pm
I noticed one of the stainless steel chafe strips on the underside of my living room slide hanging down. When I looked at it closer it appears to be "glued" on with what looks to me like rubber cement. Has anyone else seen this and what would be the best adhesive for a fiberglass/stainless steel bond?

Call Xtreme.  They put mine on last May when I had my slide worked on.

It may be contact cement.

Traveling Man, I believe you are correct. It looks like there was a very thin application and perhaps to only one surface. I got some contact cement yesterday and will give it a try.

If contact cement proves unsatisfactory, try PRC (proseal).  I have used it on many occasions with excellent results.
