Title: air bag around slide out
Post by: irwin thomas on May 21, 2016, 11:56:19 am
I am helping a friend with his 2002 u270 36 ft motor home. The rubber air bag will not inflate at all. Following the instructions by the book, no help. Also the air pump does not run, there is no power to the solenoid at the pump. What do I check for? I checked the fuse panel and find no blown fuses and the fuse at the pump is good. Help please.

Irwin, are you stuck with the slide out and need emergency air to get around that?  I know need the aux to work, just wondering if in a bind, need emergency way to inflate....or deflate?

The slide goes in and out just fine. The bladder is deflated and will not air back up at all. It stays deflated weather the slide is in or out.

Irwin,
Where you have no power to the solenoid at the pump, and the fuse at the pump is good, it sounds like the 12Vdc supply circuit breaker is tripped.
On my 2002 U320, the manual reset circuit breaker for the HWH system and the HWH 12Vdc Aux Air Pump is under the street side storage compartment/bay white fiberglass cover, mounted on the aft bulkhead (all of the U320 12Vdc resettable circuit breakers are there).  In the attached picture it is in the upper right hand corner, closest to the street.  The small black dot on the end of the circuit breaker is the circuit breaker reset pushbutton.
HTH,
Neal

There is a 15A circuit breaker for the HWH Compressor, labeled C18 on my coach.  I am pretty sure this is behind a white panel on the wall of your bigger bay, driver's side towards the front of the coach. That is where it is on our 2001, yours may be different.  Three wing nuts to get the panel off.  Hi amp 12 volt back there, be careful. Should be a button on the side of the breaker that is popped out if that is the problem.  Push it in to reset.

Thanks, Neal, just what I was thinking.  And a picture too, nice.

Thanks you guys for the info, I will try the breaker when I get home. It will be a couple of hours. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks Irwin.

If the breaker is OK you can also check the pressure switch by removing the cover and manually closing the contacts after you determine there is power to the switch.

Is the coach level?

Thanks to all who sent this info to me. It was the 40 amp breaker, just reset it and everything is working just fine. Thanks again Irwin.

A 40 amp breaker is a big guy, I'd want to know WHAT tripped it.  ^.^d
