I now have a new back-up camera and tanks monitor, but it appears that the Audit and camera are always on as the monitor has no control over them.
I left the original Javelina on/off switch in place but not sure which wire is the power wire coming out of the Audit. I'm guessing it's
the red one, but not knowing where it terminates on the other end I'm leery of cutting it to splice in the switch. What I want to do is be able to shut off the Audit, unless someone can give me a reason not to.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the Audit, and what about the back-up camera........................how do you turn it off?
These are from my White FT Owner's Manual. Do you have one?
The monitor switch gets power from wire number 24 (white) from the dash fuse panel. It sends +12v to the camera and to pin 1 and pin 7 on the audit connector plug. Camera switch turns on the camera and the audit.
Your system may be different
Howdy T-Man,
Here's the same drawings as Roger's in a .pdf format. Supposed to be for a 00 U320, so may be different for yours.
Good Luck, Dave A
Here's my wiring diagram from my camera install last fall. You can search for the full write up that will help make the diagram understandable.
Hope it helps,
Rich
On my system, the monitor switch provides power to the monitor with white wire #71A, and to the camera with white wire #71. My camera has never worked on my RV, since I took possession on 8/8/2014..
When removing the old monitor and camera, I discovered that wire #71 was broken somewhere, and never provided power to the camera. Instead of trying to find that break, I used white wire #71F, which originally went from the (optional) two-position switch on the dash to the camera, I simply plugged the dash end of #71F to the monitor switch, instead of the open circuit #71, I used the rear end of #71F to provide the power to my new camera.
It appears to work perfectly: push the monitor switch on, and the camera and monitor come on; push the monitor switch off, and the camera and monitor turn off.
Hope this helps,
Trent
Here's another try to put on the correct attachment.
Sorry for the previous confusion,
Rich
I do have the white owner's manual. I will reference it.
I ended up using a single switch to turn the Audit and back-up camera ON/OFF.
Thanks to Roger in Home #2 and Rich for the wiring diagrams.
Once I located the wires I realized how close they were to the switch location. I'm assuming that the TN RV place that installed the Pioneer flip-up DVD RDS AV RECEIVER for the PO hooked it's 2 wires up and butt connected the other 5 wires together. The installation was last June so they've been running almost a year.
I removed the butt connector and ran the wires through the switch, like OEM.
