We are on the maiden trip in our new to us FT. We experienced a crunchy/popping sound on the front passenger side slide during extension. It had retracted fine in the morning. We had leveled, other three extend fine. Checked prior to extension for items. Looked under neath slide, appears normal after extension. Will they take a fit and do this? Reveals looked ok just prior to extending as I was outside.
In our 12 years, no. Crunching/popping is not normal. Check some of the interior bits to see if something hung up while the slide was extending. Hopefully just something minor.
Congratulations on your new (to you) Nimbus. We've had our 09 for 9 weeks and the two rear slide are pretty smooth and consistant in the sounds they make while operating. The driver side front slide is all over the board in the sounds it makes. Sometimes its smooth and quiet. Other times it clanks and clunks but not terribly loud. The scariest noise is a rubber squeal that is clearly the rubber seal has not fully separated from the slide body. I've learned to stop the retract/ extend and turn off the key till the sound of reinflation stops. I then start the cycle over and that makes a marked improvement in the squeal. Slides are new to us so I dont yet know what to expect when I open or close that slide. Good luck to you with yours.
