Title: 1991 GV 40 DD 6V92 tow question
Post by: prfleming on June 08, 2016, 03:50:18 pm
My wife and son are on a trip in ND and the engine quit and cranks but won't start. Mobile tech verified fuel is primed. He thinks possible issue with the DDEC. Looking at Good Sams tow. Do we need to disconnect u-joint or pull axles?

I would mark your drive line and yoke and pull the drive line. the tow truck driver should have a way to hook air to the coach to release the brakes.

Peter,

Have you checked the code reader and flashed any codes?

Thanks for the tips. I'm in Mpls, doing remote tech support with my wife and son. I think at this point, getting to a service center is best. Westlie Truck Center in Dickinson says they can help us, just need to get there, about 40 miles.

Boy that brings back memories for sure. We had a ride on alow boy but it was a totally flat bed using all hydraulics to drop the bed just flat on ground, no tyres to climb over. Amazing truck and trailer and so solid. Drove 110miles with us in car behind looking up at coach going under bridges etc.
Hope yours turns out fine too.
