Title: 92 GV 300 thinking about selling.. many renovations done a few still needed
Post by: aat3643 on June 11, 2016, 02:42:09 pm
Unfortunately thinking about selling our 92 grandvilla. Its a great coach. Tons of work done, and in condition to hit the road. Cosmetically it is in great shape. Motor/drivetrain all perfect but the air bags need replacing. They inflate fine and would work on the road now they just need replacing soon. Its a great motorhome and has a lot of life left really hate to see her go. I was hoping to get somewhere around 23k for it wanted to consult with the experts first. Thanks for any help!

Well it would help if we knew what you owned first off. There in zero info on your profile and actually mentions that you do not have one ???
Sort of going into a showroom and saying" how much will you give me for my car", and forgetting you left it at home and arrived there by bus!!

Thanks. Sorry I didnt mean to come off in a negative way . I have been interested in these coachs for a while and just read about them on the forums available. The coach is offered for sale to me right now at what i think is a good deal Im wondering if it is something that could be an investment or if i would be keeping it which both are great options to me. I just wanted a little more of an idea what i would be dealing with in that area of things. Its  a 38' 1992 GV in really good shape. The owner is my neighbor and motorhome buff it has been taken well care of by him.

Lots of variables there like engine, model of the coach, tire condition, battery condition, interior condition, exterior condition.

It is unclear what you're asking - you mention selling your coach then you talk about buying a coach from your neighbor, yet it sounds like they are one in the same.

I don't mean to sound suspicious, but it sounds like you are trying to find out if you could buy the coach cheap from your neighbor and sell it for more here.

Yes that is precisely what Im trying to do. This is a forum for Foretravel owners. Where else would I find a group of people interested in a FT GV?
You guys are a tough crowd, in my first post i wanted to sound like i already had it so i wouldnt get the twelfth degree from the peanut gallery. Im trying to buy my neighbors FT that is in great shape in and out with 135k miles on it. Im literally trying to use the best tools i have available to get information. He is my friend and giving me a good deal on it. The deal is well worth it for the coach and i would be very very happy to own it. BUT I also like to make money and started wondering if I could flip it. Sorry I offended the powers to be because i want to sell a coach that you guys know a lot about and need information.

Too my knowledge, no one has ever made money buying and flipping older motor homes regardless of brand.  They are a depreciating asset .  You buy them, you enjoy them, and you take a hit on the chin when you sell them.  ;D

Well in my humble opinion, you came across as owning it to begin with, so do not know why you are giving us a bad shake here. Plus you gave absolutely no info and pictures, which any normal "seller" would do to help in the "sale"!!
Some straight forward questions were asked of you and you then finally own up to what you want to do! For a first time poster you did not get off to a good start--and we are the "bad Boys [Peanut Gallery as you call us] in this"??
I may be wrong but if I was your neighbour and found out you really are trying to flip it and make some money on his coach and he is under the thought that you want it to use, I may be rather ticked off with you. Why not be upfront with him and say that you will market it for him and any "extra" cash deemed from sale is split 50/50 over what he is willing to sell to you?? Sounds fair to me and maybe gives you both some spending money. If this is done then take and post pictures and all pertinent info in the correct forum (classifieds) or you will get the wrath of God from our Moderators.  I by the way am not one of them.

"Tough crowd"?, Well deserved in this case. So basically your first post was a outright lie, with the intention of playing the forum membership. Good luck with that.

We may be a tough crowd but we got offended  not by you trying to sell a coach but by dishonesty.
