Curious what battery bank am I pulling from. Hope all my fellow foretravelers are doing well.
On my 97 270 it is from the engine batteries.
On my 1997 U295, one 12VDC outlet is connected to the houses batteries, and the other is connected to the chassis (start) batteries. The lower outlet is connected to the chassis batteries. Yours may be different. It's easy to check if you have to digital volt meters that plug to the outlets. When you activate the starter for the "big" engine, the voltage for the chassis batteries will drop significantly while the starter is engaged.
It might be easier on your Foretravel to turn the headlights on, instead of cranking your starter.

On my coach most of the dash items are powered by the chassis batteries; clock continues to run with chassis batteries disconnected, cigar lighter is house. Leveling is both, it will go to travel mode with ignition on and battery switch by door off. Battery switch by door must be on though to level.
