Title: Shower leak?
Post by: TAS69 on June 27, 2016, 10:11:52 pm
The hose connection at the wall fixture is leaking on our coach. We replaced the rubber washer with no improvement, has anyone else dealt with this? If so what could we be missing! Maybe some thing in the fixture itself?
                            Thanks as always! Tom

I'll give it a shot although the fixture has flat spots on four sides of threaded male nipple. Starting to suspect it's epoxy on a crack or new fixture 😞

If this is the connection for the water hookup it sounds like the check valve is leaking.

Might be time for a new hose if the leak is where the hose goes to the shower head. You should be able to get one at one of the big box stores.

It sounds like the vacuum breaker might be the issue. I am not sure why FOT put one there since it is very unlikely that the water level could ever get high enough to make use of it... I went ahead and got one while I was at FOT but if I was to have it leak again, I would just eliminate it. As I remember, it was a ridiculous price, supposedly because it was brass.

Look for the brand name for the vacuum breaker.  I got a replacement at no cost by calling mine.  I think it's considered a safety risk.
