Hello all , the PO put a mickey mouse horn behind the grill . I have read pass post on other members with air horn problems , hears what I know so far . My horn button works because that little horn blows , the PO was never a member of this great forum , and never had a clue of how to take care of this great land cruiser . This work of art well be right ,are set in her new building . So all that said ,would someone please explain how many, and where these relays & solenoids are located ? Thanks for all help .
On my 96 the air relay is right on back of the dash air gauge,I took it apart and cleaned it after horn quit working.
Thanks john for the PDQ responds :) it just crossed my mind that for the PO to install the little horn he had to bypass the oem set up :(
I know our horn set-up has been worked on a few times by previous owners. Each time, the problems seemed to be in the steering column. Ours works, but I don't trust the "honker" on the wheel.
Another option if you want to bypass the OEM setup!

My '93 has the horn solenoid switch in the spot mentioned by John44 - right behind the dash air pressure gauge. The electric relay that powers the solenoid switch is #55, located on the far left side of the under-dash area. There are 6 or 7 relays lined up there - they should be numbered.
You said your horn button works, so probably not a concern right now. But if you ever do have a intermittent horn, there is a yellow wire under the steering wheel cap that is often the cause. Here is an old thread on the subject:
Horn won't work (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=25304.msg200079#msg200079)
Thanks chuck , thinking I should start with the hot lead going to the new horn . where should it be reconnected to ?
When a PO installs a non-factory part, there is no telling how he/she might have wired it. The factory horn relay gets power from a fuse located in the big group of fuses under the dash cover. On mine the fuse is labeled "horn bk/up". However, there are a number of "hot" terminals under the dash, and the PO could have tapped into any one of them.
I hope you have a wiring diagram for your coach. It makes this kind of project a LOT easier!
I'm trying to see on my wiring diagram what wire goes from the steering wheel button to the horn relay - haven't found it yet...
OK, I found it! On my coach, there is a WHITE wire (the only one) that goes from the big electrical plug under the the steering column to the horn relay #55. This is the wire that the steering wheel horn button energizes, and your PO probably cut/rerouted it to control the after-market horn.
Thanks Chuck , and all that have helped . so far I now no that relay 55 clicks when I hit the horn button , so that's good that he didn't by pass it so where do I go next . I know I just need to put the wire from the after market horn back where it was from the factory . Also after changing the oil in the v6/92 & genset . I started the engine & noticed the AC compressor was engaged , I was like WHAT don't tell me my dash air still works on this 92 model coach ! so I walked to the front of the coach & Shure enough the low pressure line was cold and sweating . unfortunately my vacuum pump is missing :( and the defrost is the only vent blowing air . how can I get the hvac door to switch to the ac coil are what ever its called . Once more thanks all . Ken 812 697-0212
Look on the backside if the air pressure gage there should be a solonoid on it with a air line coming off it.this is the horn air solonoid wire from relay comes here .you should have 12 volts on this solonoid when you push button.if you do and solonoid dosn't work try tapping it with something they can stick at times and need persuasive actions.
Ken you are going to have to have z vacume pump to make the blend doors work.
Probably need to start a new thread for this A/C question.
There is another current thread talking about vacuum pumps...

Stomp Problem salved . Thankfully the PO. Used a quick connect o the blue wire on the 55 relay . I just disconnected it , and tapped the horn to see if the relay made a clicking sound . It didn't . while putting presser on the horn I tapped the relay and guess what . my air horns worked . now to get that hvac door switched over to the condenser manually . Dash air WOW!!!
