Title: Bathroom vanity fixture
Post by: Caflashbob on July 26, 2016, 06:18:35 pm
We were cleaning and broke off an led replacement bulb in the brass three bulb fixture.

Cannot get the base out.  Bulb is gone as is the circuit board.

Any idea why it will not turn in the fixture?

The led bulbs have a white base that fits flush to the fixture.

Went in in place of the team bulbs.  Never tried removing them.

?

Bob,

Disclaimer:  Have not seen the exact LED you have.

Can you use a pair of needle nose pliers in the LED to remove it?

I have experienced bulb problem similar to yours in the past. Seems the base/bulb has to be pushed in and then turned, as there is a little return(?) in the paths the posts on the bulb base so the bulb does not just rotate and then pop out on its own from vibration. Try pushing the remainder of the base in and rotate backward from the installation direction.

The white plastic base below the actual bulb was bottomed out.

Would not allow the needed movement in.

Squeezed the plastic part with a needle nose pliers and broke it off.

Squeezed the metal part in the fixture till it was flat then pushed it in and turned it till it was free.

New bulb went in fine and lights up.

Thanks for the help
