Title: What caulk is used on Foretravels?
Post by: Jerry Whiteaker on July 27, 2016, 05:17:54 pm
On my coach Foretravel used a white caulk in many places to keep  out water,  form a good seal, and for bedding a piece of equipment on a surface that is not smooth.  It performs well in doing that, plus it can be removed with out too much effort.  It is a bit crumbly after it hardens.  Does anyone know the type and/or brand?

Jerry try 3M 4200 for a removable seal, 3M 4000 UV for places exposed to the sun and 3M 5200 for a permanent seal.

Dicor works OK but it takes much longer to set up.

If you're talking about the roof it is Dicor self leveling caulk.

Thanks Roger, it looks like 3M 4200 may be similar to what FT used.  Rather expensive though.  I'm still working on my wiper problem and now have the parts after almost 2 months.

It has the words "3M & Marine" on it. The price would be even higher if the work "RV" was also on it.

Roger.
Thanks for the caulking explanation. Just what I needed.    I resealed part of passenger belt line and whatever I used IS working but is a complete dirt magnet. I hope these recommendations aren't ?
