At some point my OEM door FOB and associated radio quit. Did without them for a year as FOT said replacement receiver no longer available. (Failure mode was range progressively got less and less until it wouldn't work at all.) MOT said we can replace, and all will work all doors just like OEM. They put in a system made by HDC - a "Pro Controller Model M3FL ( which it looks to be a security alarm system too if you put in the included siren). Called them up after yesterday, and they shipped me an entire new unit on warranty - since it was plug and play, just put in the new controller, and used the supplied brand new fobs (pre programmed from the factory - so no re-programming of fobs)_. Shipped the old controller back today. Simple, great customer service
Pictures of box plus picture of what it looks like behind the panel - this is NOT a Plug and Play for the OEM unit- rewiring required, better at MOT, but a good auto radio/security shop could probably handle it locally f they had someone sharp with wiring.
After about a year, it failed in a characteristic mode. (It was installed behind the panel just to the right of the entry door as you go up the stairs. Not sure if this is where the OEM receiver was installed, but probably. You can easily look behind that pane,, just Pull out from the bottom of the panel and two lower cabinet latches disengage, then allowed to drop slightly and you can take yours out too. Note, some wires attached, so don't pull out too far until you look behind it and see what is going on.)
Second set of pictures is unit as installed - I pulled out the controller, but it lives to the lower right of this space behind that square tube frame member - note, I think the relays were added as part of the install, so definitely a job for someone comfortable with wiring. Glad to have it working, missed it for the year and a half, and the two days I waited for the warranty controller.
Tim - if you care to share - what did MOT charge for the HDC system and install?
Maybe $450 installed
