Title: Excessivie cycling of Oasis hydronic heating system
Post by: djpauls on September 03, 2016, 02:48:37 pm
The OASIS hydronic heating system cycles repeatedly. On 33 seconds, off 18 seconds, repeat. Zone 1 only. Zone 2 works properly. I can hear the thermostat click on and off. After the first 24 hours it seems to work properly. The chances of it acting up for a technician to observe are almost zero. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help!

Try taking the fuse out of the wall mounted Thermostat. This will reset it as it sounds as if it is calling for heat irractically.

Don,

ITR (Oasis/Hurricane) has excellent telephone support during the workweek Pacific time - 360.993.4877

Check to see if something is causing the air from the furnace to blow on the thermostat. That will cause short cycling.

brrving ... assuming that removing and replacing the fuse in the T-stat is to interrupt the power, the batteries have been disconnected twice and the problem persists.  This has been going on for 2 years.
rudy ... I have talked to ITR and they suggest that I pay attention to the lights on the exterior of the furnace the next time it acts up and call them with the results.  It only acts up when it is below freezing and so the next opportunity will be mid-January.  I was hoping to find something before then.
old phart phred ... not even a remote possibility given the location of the T-stat in relation to furnace vents.

Thanks for your suggestions.  Unfortunately at this point I am still looking for solutions.
