I have owned several motorhomes, but never a DP. I've been thinking about switching to diesel to possibly do some snowbirding,. I have been researching Foretravels and have seen that I can buy a 2007 or 8 Nimbus or Phenix for the same price of an older 2003 or 4 U320. The newer Nimbus looks extremely nice on line. Is the U320 higher end than the Nimbus or Phoenix? Is there a reason to stay away from the newer Nimbus or Phoenix? I'd appreciate any and all guidance or warnings. Would most of you recommend the newer or older Foretravel?
Where are you seeing them at the same price? MOT prices show over $40,000 difference min.
Be sure to compare the same length coach when looking at sales prices. I think most members would say that the U320 is more high end than a 2007 nimbus.
Also, a forum member just made a purchase and was deciding between a 2005 U320 and a 2007 Nimbus. He decided on the U320. Maybe that member will answer your post.

Rvt has 40 ft and 42 ft for. $179 and $189 and a 2006 Phoenix for $163. I think I saw other places with similar pricing. Are you saying that the Nimbus is a good RV?
I don't believe the price of that 06 Phenix is representative of the price of a typical 06 Phenix. If I'm not mistaken that unit has been discussed by members here and opinions were that it needed tens of thousands $.
Grandpa,
I just went through that same dilemma and purchased the '05 U320 after fully intending to buy an 08-09 Nimbus/Phenix. I found the fit, finish and overall build quality of the 320 to be very noticeably superior in my opinion. The price difference between the coaches I looked at most seriously was between 30-60k. Here is a link to my discussion with the forum when I was shopping. A good PPI from both Keith Risch (MOT) and Rance at Xtreme will be money well (and wisely) spent.

Thanks for your input and the link. It was very educational. I'm still in the investigation stage of finding the right RV for me. I wish I was prepared to buy now. The '04 at MOT looks exceptional on line. Thanks for your desire and willingness to help.
@Grandpa you will find plenty of that here. Some good folks on this forum!

Anytime! Like Ken said, you'll find plenty of willing forum members here to help with any questions.
Also, these things are like children and houses ..... are we really ever "ready" for one? Life's short - make it count.
Grandpa,
This is one of those questions that that you will be able to answer best for yourself as you learn more about the different models, the differences from year to year, the differences between the 2005 and earlier and the later coaches and what your own values are. Everyone of these coach models and years has some good and some not so good aspects. On many used coaches the problems have often been addressed to some degree. Floor plans, materials, look and feel, colors all influence what an individual coach will feel like to you. The more you learn, the more coaches you look at, the more owners you talk to, the better you will be able to begin to answer the question for yourself. You will be a smarter buyer and will more likely end up with a good fit for your needs.
There is no universally perfect coach. But there is a really good one out there that will be a great fit for what you want and your budget.
