Urgent help needed!
I am traveling and my front end door (generator) popped open.
When I pulled over, the generator had slid forward and broke the two latching brackets free from the door fiberglass. I have no bolts and, worst of all, no zip ties! Some idiot forgot to put the locking bolts back in. (Or maybe they worked themselves loose; nope, didn't think so.)
Does anybody know what size bolts I need to lock down my 10kw Powertech (Izusu) generator. If I can find the correct size, I know what to beg, borrow, or find to get back home.
Thanks,
Trent
(aka, idiot)
can you take a bolt out of the house battery trays to get by?
I can't get to the front of mine right now, but if it is a through hole you could use a 1/4 20 bolt and nut with flat washers to get by.
1/4-20 X 3/4" serrated flange head cap screws are what I have.
Two of them isn't exactly over-kill for the weight of the Genset.
Good Luck Tulsa and where are you in the world?
Thanks for the size.
Right now I am at the Expo Center in Shawnee, OK. We are here attending the FMCA Six State Rally, "Oklahoma Stampede." (This is where we attended our first Grandvemtion, a couple of years ago.)
There is a Fortravel directly behind me, and another one about three coaches to the side of me. So far, There are five Foretravels (counting mine) in the two rows that I am in. Really surprising to see that many here; so far, they are all Unicoaches.

Sounds like fun.
3/8 NC with nylock nuts 2 required.
I plan to replace mine with grade 5 or 8 screws that are longer and add the locknut.
Cheap insurance.
This issue has been resolved. Two kind souls from Motorhomes of Texas, Craig and Keith, stopped by after the exhibits closed yesterday. They went to Lowes and got the bolts, and installed them for me! Another example of MOT going above and beyond to help an RVer in need. (More about them in a separate message.)
Thanks to Craig and Keith, and all who offered help here,
Trent
