Title: 2004 Foretravel U320 42' @ MOT
Post by: Dave & Danette on September 16, 2016, 05:24:10 pm
Just wondering if anyone has seen or has any information on this coach? My son is interested in it, and I was curious if anyone on here had owned it or knows any history on it? It looks like it's been meticulously cared for and in excellent condition.
Thanks for any input.

Am I to understand that you have seen, looked at, this coach?  IF not, and all you are seeing are the pictures, then you may want at this stage to simply consider if the floor plan is what they desire, want.  (this below is very simplistic, just trying to help and you likely have thought of these things....)

Just from the pictures, you or they can consider if you want the various features you can see.  For example, it is a 42 ft coach and your coach is a 36.  You may or they may be experienced owners and if so understand the differences, but if not there is a different parking need, some RV parks may limit parking a 42.  Do they require or want a private closet commode?  Do you like a rear closet (it is an EW bed as I recall the photo) and may mean you cannot access the closet quite as easily as a slide out closet unless you park and put the slide out.  Understand, people like one just as much as the other, but it does not mean you will.  It also may be a little less closet spaces with the washer in the rear closet and having a potty in a closet space....not a problem per se, it simply up to you to consider.

If you do not live near and you are unsure from the photos of the general condition, you could get someone to look at it, give you some ideas.  If it is very hard to get to Nac and you want more assurance it is worth the trip, you could hire someone to inspect it but I would not do that unless I was very interested and just not practical to get to Nac for a first look.  The salesman at MOT can give you a good assessment as well.

It has a J-sofa, some like some not so much but can change, at a price.  Looks like nice instrumentation in photos.  Front TV as you like?  There is not a "hutch", some people like, others probably not so much and there appears to be a nice cabinet in that spot anyway.  Upgraded refrigerator I think, do not recall that being standard.

Usually MOT prices things pretty fairly, they know the market.  Check the price against other similar coaches.....if it is very low or high priced, it CAN have some indication of the condition but unless MOT owns the coach, the owner sets the price and in that case price may or may not be a good indication of condition (including such as age of tires).

I am sure you will get more dialogue but since no one had yet responded, I thought I might start with a couple of observations to help get started.  Good luck.

Thanks Mike,
My son has a Thor Outlaw Toyhauler. Since we bought our Foretravel he has been impressed with the quality and looking for one himself. He went down there last week to look at another coach, which turned out to be in rougher shape than he wanted. He went through this coach while he was there and is going to buy it. I was just trying to get any information on it's history and maintenance if it was someone's on the Forums? Or if anyone knows the previous owner? Looks like we're going down there tomorrow and pick it up Monday.

Ah, now understand your direction....i do not think i know the prior owner but since deal done, probably not pertinent.  You would already know to have service records.  If tow a trailer for the toys, will be great.
