When I had to replace my original refrigerator MOT talked me out of doing it due to the fact I had only 2 battery bank. In hindsight I would of added a extra battery and then a residential.

Our U270 only has 2 batteries my Kilowatt  meter shows that my Frigidaire pulls .08 amp in run mode, when we dry camp we turn of the switch I installed for the defrost heater. We were at a Good Sam Rally a Atlanta Motor Speedway, Ran the Generator one hour in the morning for breakfast and battery charging.

Dave & John/Pat,

The 24" x 60" has been one of the most popular size fridge to install, it also was one of the first size to be switched.  There are many, many postings on Forum and BeamAlarm for this size.

Someone even pulled out the large double door propane and put in this small size, as it has enough capacity and does not require any cabinet changes, except to close off the unused space left over from the original larger size fridge.

We also installed this size in our coach over 5 years ago.  Fridge costs are low at about $400 and install can almost be a direct swap with minimal cabinet changes.  It can also be a do it yourself project with the hardest part being moving the new fridge into the coach.

We have two Gel 8D house batteries and dry camping two weeks at Quartzsite works out ok.

One of the best changes we have made to our coach, no defrost, little more capacity, faster ice cubes, but the disadvantage is now we can have more ice cream.

Wow! Found the Frigidaire FFRT1022QB on sale at the Sears outlet in Houston $275 !! Kind of a no brainier.

I'm in the process of adding 900w of solar, designed to be easily scaled up to 1200W. Might as well do it now.

Moderator, you might wanna move this to "renovations".

There is a very nice 11 cuft whirpool at Lowes.  Don Hay is putting one in a 1992 GV.  It a 24 inch.  He has two batteries.  Call Keith Davis at MOT if want talk batteries and inverters...maybe Don will chime in.  We were out yesterday monitirung progress on our install, think his begins second week in Oct.

But can be done, been done, and one being done soon at MOT.  My hunch is it a better brand than the 10 cuft Korean made alternative.
