Latch will not release from the stud, any suggestions?
Mine sticks once in a while. I can get at the cable throught the vent openings and pull on it. The cable stretches over time and can be tightened (adjusted) at the center connection. One of these days I will do that.
Yeah I tried pulling the cable, had to do that the last time and it worked but this time it won't budge.
Try pushing in on the stuck side of the hatch while pulling on the cable. Sometimes a little silicon lube on the latches will free them up, if not its time to adjust the cables.

Push in hard on corner with latch to relieve pressure and then use something to pull cable or even give normal handle a sharp pull.
If all else fails maybe lift bed and manually release latch from behind door.
After all some have got into a motorhome where the front door lock is stuck, lifting bed from the engine compartment, why not do the reverse.
Thanks everyone, it might be that the actuating lever is broken since it feels loose. might have to try getting to it from the engine side.
Mine was sticking and had to reach thru to pull cable once I got open I sprayed silicone on everything. Now it works like it use too
I got this fixed about a month ago, but it was not an easy solution. The latch had actually worn out and the cam piece would not open. SOOO I had to have my wife crawl over the engine and disconnect the mechanism. After that it was easy. I have a great wife!
I bought 4 of each, left and right from Fortravel 3 weeks ago for spares as Mike said when the stock is gone no more are being made. They fit all the doors on the '99 U320
