Nice to have more storage!

Guess I COULD do that....the DW would leave then at the same time & look at all the space I'd have ! :o
We also emptied out washer dryer space when we bought our coach 16 years ago. The space is now used for our printer, paper, and lots of other important stuff.
And no one is slave to the small washer, that it has to be fed every day to keep up. Now every 10 days or so, a couple of hours at a Laundromat gets the job down with 3 or 4 washers at the same time. Life is much better. And now someone else can deal with the maintenance on this appliance and we never have water leaks in the closet area.
Want to sell it?

I also removed the Splendid and made the floor easily removable to get access to the plumbing/wiring/ducts below the washer/dryer subfloor. The onboard washer/dryer is either loved or hated by motorhome owners. I removed it because it did not work and revealed through much research and testing that repairs were too costly ($500) and some parts which fail repeatedly were not available. I also boondock most of the time making water too valuable to use for washing clothes.
we removed our Splendide soon after purchasing our coach, also. Don't miss it, and really like the storage.
Our splendide 2100 xc works well, we dry camp in remote areas or rest areas or Walmarts when possible so a few small loads helps.
Our 97 has two and one half closets separate from the splendide then a upper 1/2 closet we use for a trash can.
The original orderers of our coach really knew what they were doing, thanks to the .Robinson's from Arizona.
I personally ordered a hundred custom Foretravels as a manager and they really did this one right.
Mid door....
Sorry
I would not live in my FT without the Splendid. It is one of my favorite things in the coach. I like the small loads as I do not have to wait for a big load to accumulate. It works great as a hamper until I decide to sort and do a couple of loads.

I like the spendide so much when the old one (after 23 years) crapped out I put in a new one. Not perfect but for the amount of space it takes up I wouldn't be without it..
Since we bought used, our only requirement was that any coach we bought had to have the prep for washer and dryer. Ours did. When we removed the old refrigerator I had access to where the hoses were to connect, so I put them in. We don't have a washer or dryer on board, and the closet is pretty full. A couple of hours at a laundromat works for us.
All you've gotta do to grow to love the washer onboard is visit a laundromat in a college town, or find one that has had dirty diapers washed in the machines (I know, who does that anymore.), or get one that all the sled dog beds had been washed in. You may find another laundromat, but in some cases it isn't an option.
Laundromats are part of the adventure. The splendide had to go.
As a foretravel sales manager I had a percentage of customers(ladies) who were germ a phobic. Would not dream of using someone else's laundry equipement.....
Dave at MOT took out the Splendide, built and put in two deep drawers, see photos. Excited to get this storage, better arrangement for us but know it not for everyone. Just showing you an option of how drawers could be done. We did not consider three more shallow drawers though you might should you make a change.
Those drawers are really nice, way more useful than just leaving open shelves. I also love that you decided to keep the original louvered doors, way easier to convert back to the Splendide, should someone want to do that in the future.
Sorry, Len. Gave it to the guy that took it out.
