Hi Everyone,
We are looking for advice on possibly selling our coach. Our life has taken a turn in a different direction and we are considering parting with our 2001 U320. Any good idea's on where to list. We are in Canada so it is a very limited market.
Any advice would be helpful.

Mathew-
For sure consider calling Motorhomes of Texas for a quote - they will come and pick it up, detail it and sell it, all for a fee of course. The offset is the convenience, and safety of letting them sell it. Since they have a ready supply of buyers and can help with trades and financing a buyer, often you might net as much using them and paying their fee as you would if you sold it yourself privately.
That being said, a well written classified and a bunch of pictures in the classifieds section of this forum is free and effective.
You didn't say what length your 2001 U320 is, but many consider the 2000 and 2001 the finest build quality versions of Foretravel IF you want a coach with slides.
Good luck!

I had a somewhat shocking surprise when I called to renew our insurance on the rig a few days ago! I was asking the young lady if there was a payment option for 3 months or 6 months instead of an entire year, as we were thinking of selling the rig for health reasons.
"OH! Is it on consignment?", she asks.
"No, it is just one of the options we may consider. Why ?", I reply
"Well, if the RV is on consignment, we cancel the policy."she says. :o :o :o
WHA?? Apparently, that is in the fine print. I never looked before ... never had cause to ... and she was kind enough to email me the language in the policy. I was flabbergasted! I found another company (on the Escapee's website) that was happy to insure us. In the eventuality that we would be in a consignment situation, there is a very reasonable form that needs to be submitted to their underwriters for approval ... and basically insures that the consignment location is not some vacant lot with shabby supervision. No sweat. Still .... the cancellation provision from Nationwide was a RUDE shock!! Anyone considering consignment should check their policy. FWIW!!!
I bought my 34' FT in Canada. It can get a little more involve to "import" it back to the USA if using a company. For me, the individual that bought it, it was just a very quick 10 minutes at the border (and have the correct paper work). The agent just verified the correct USA plates were on (EPA for engine, DOT etc). Since it came from the USA, not a big deal.
However, if the seller wanted to sell it in the USA, they said they would've had to hire a customs broker to bring it here and deal with all that.
Matthew,
You might drop member Chuck Pearson a note as he mentioned that he was looking for a single slide 320. Here is a clip from his post.
Also, if anyone should hear of a single slide 320 available in the area would appreciate a heads up, we're about ready to jump that broom.
Here is a link to him http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?action=profile;area=summary;u=1345

Please PM me with info as I know a few people in Canada that may be interested in it.

I forgot to mention, I found my FT to buy in canada here on these forums.
Would like to get feedback from everyone on our coach. We are asking $95,000 U.S. Wondering if we are to high or to low.
Engine and Transmission - Fluid changes every spring and just spent $4000 tracking down a transmission retarder issue. New wiring was installed as well as 2 new solenoids. The front transmission/driveshaft seal was also replaced. Transsyn was also replaced as well.
Tires - front tires were just replaced in 2016 (this past spring). The back tires are still at about 90%.
Suspension - every spring I do the "soap test". This past spring I replaced a T valve in the front. Aux compressor was rebuilt this past year. Good for another 10 years. Once a year I manually air drain the tanks to keep them fresh.
Paint - flawless. One bin door was damaged when we purchased. We took it the local body shop and they repaired and repainted the panel with clear coat. Amazing job.
Aquahot - Yearly service in the fall. New nozzle and electrode alignment. Burns clear. Older style, which has the coolant on the outside so we run antifreeze. Flushed in 2015.
Interior - Cherry wood interior. I will let the pictures speak to this one. The flooring was redone this spring. "drop and done" flooring was installed. Repairable vinyl plank. The front has had the TV upgrade completed as well. Plenty of storage with the pantry and pull out's.
Awning's - Zip Dee and with fabric retreated last year. Automatic air lift. Arms rebuilt last winter. New electrical installed.
We are asking $95,000 U.S. - Thoughts?
Matthew
Matthew,
Looks like a nice one the same age as mine.. I feel you may be selling too low and at that price it will go fast.
Mileage, or did I miss it??
Speedbird 1.
Thank you to everyone for your input. We have decided to sell our coach. We have listed at $99,500 U.S , but for a forum member we have listed it at $95,000 U.S. and we will deliver to the either Vancouver or Lethbridge. 2 cities close to the United States border. We have a listing in the classifieds on here as well.
Thank you to everyone for all your words of wisdom over our time here.

Think a bit about Tim's idea...list at MOT. I have a friend wants coach exactly like yours but wants to do a trade. You might adjust a price a little to cover commission but even in that can work best for buyer on financing, taxes, getting rid of his coach.....just thinking, maybe not best idea I have today!
Good luck
I've been to Hinton. It's amazingly beautiful there!
Thanks, we feel very lucky where we live. Great for rving.
Tim, right under Mathew's postings is the length---2001 U320 40'

Hi Everyone,we are considering a trip down south and consigning our coach at MOT. Has anyone had any experience with the process?
Have you looked into the process to importing it back to the USA to sell?
Yes, very easy. Fill out a form, arrive at the boarder and done. The coach still has the Oregon State sticker at the door. And was manufactured in the U.S. Not complicated.
I am sure I have missed a few steps, but nothing complicated. If we list it on a lot in the U.S. We will need a brokerage firm and a forum filled out.
Matthew
Yes Mathew is correct it is not a problem (just been thru it). The US Border want to have one of 3 things. Seller in coach/Buyer in coach/or a Broker having filled in form 7051. There are a couple of Homeland Security Forms to be filled in and they like to see the original letter from FT that said there are no outstanding safety issues with coach. Having the original Title is a plus too. I had copies and they were hesitant at first.
If I did it again I would have a Broker do the paperwork needed and take that with me.
JohnH
We placed our coach for sale on consignment at MOT in July of this year. After the coach was listed with pictures on the MOT website, the coach sold in three weeks. Selling our coach at MOT was a positive experience and we recommend them. How long it takes to sell a coach depends on a lot of variables. But clean, average mileage, well maintained, reasonably priced coaches appear to sell fairly quickly.
Larry
Sounds like you researched it already! I only asked, because I know it's easy to import as buyer (I did it with my RV 3 years ago), but I was told if bringing it to the USA to sell, one must higher a customs broker (not sure what the fee is for that).
We are thinking about listing our 2001 320 single slide. We are the original owner. 65000 miles. Many upgrades. New tires, in motion sat, inverter, batteries, 8-12. Stored indoors w heat. Only issues w it are the fuel gauge needs to be calibrated, couple repaired chips in the windshield, and the posilock on the door needs to be replaced(I removed it). We are looking to upgrade to a bunk unit for the kids. I should be able to pull it out this weekend for pics.
Where is it?????
John44, this coach is listed further down
He is in Wisconsin
Sounds like a brauty.
Hi Everyone. We are going to be taking our 2001 U320 to a consignment lot in Texas in 2 weeks. We are going to offer our coach at $92,500 U.S. until then as we will have to pay a commission on the lot. Possibly saving us a trip. We also have the coach in the classifieds section on the forum. We are also willing to deliver the coach in the U.S. with in reason. We offering it at a discount just because of the cost we will have on the lot, and we would like "Foree" to go to a good home.
Matthew
Thank you to everyone for the input. We are taking our coach next week down to Texas to be put on the OTM lot. Over the phone, they have been a great group of people. Customs was a bit more complicated so we hired a broker. Very easy now.
One question we have, do we take out the washing machine or leave in? Not sure if people want a used washing machine.
Matthew and Rob
My answer would be to leave it in if it's in good condition. I would consider it an added value when looking at the coach.
Definitely leave the washer in the coach. I can not imagine that a person buying a "used" coach would have problem with a "used" washer.
You are not planning to remove couch or chairs or bed, correct?
Nope. Everything just stays. We were just wondering. Way easier to leave in than haul out. If you know of anyone looking for a 2001 U320 40' that is has spent it's life under great care, point them in OTM's direction.
Matthew
If you take the washer out, then the next owners will have to use the washers at the RV park, or else a laundromat. They are
definitely "used".
Definitely leave the washer and dryer. We use ours all the time.
