It is a side isle...I had a 1990 U280 36' Reverse side isle( on passenger side) and liked it very much.  It was a good floor plan...also no pantry.

A bit off topic, but I'm curious what people here think - the America Eagle just above the Foretravel in PPL's list sure looks good for $23k.  Weren't those supposed to be pretty good quality?

I have that floor plan - called an SAI.  Pantry is to the left of the frig and there is also the cabinet between the couch and the dinette.  The bathroom is nice in that you close the door and access between the salon and bedroom is uninhibited - a full bath that is truly private.  Yes, downside is storage compared to other floor plans.  I do like how the plumbing system is fairly concentrated and close to the water heater so very minimal water wasted waiting for it to reach the facet or shower.  With the frig in the middle and rotated 90 degrees there is no exterior panel so the drivers side looks real clean.  Of course, to access the back of the frig it's done through a sealed panel in a closet in the bathroom.  Everything is trade-offs.
P.S. Picture is from 1992 Motorcade mailer.
