I have a 97 - U295. My problem is that I have the camera and the lights pulsating. When I switch the power boost switch to on,
the camera pulsates and so do the lights. When I turn it off, the lights pulsate at a different level than before. I have had this problem for years, had the unit in the Foretravel shop, seemed that it was fixed but it still happens. Could it be the boost switch
solenoid, could it be a ground problem, baffled at the moment. Has anyone experienced this. Changed the alternator but that did
not help.
Alex
Had a similar problem when I was towing only.....turned out to be a ground issue on the tow dolly. Hope this helps.
Are we talking about all lights? Such as inside coach lights and the automotive type lights?
The pulsation is in the coach lights, dash and outside, not interior lights, eg. living area, etc.
Thanks for your help.
Alex
NOT SURE IF THIS WILL HELP BUT OUR 2003 GV320 IS DOING THE SAME THING.IF I BRING THE IDLE UP THE LIGHTS STAY NORMAL , NO FLICKER.THE COMPUTER READOUT STATES 13.6 VOLTS OUTPUT.I AM ABOUT TO CHANGE OUT THE ALTERNATOR.I WAS OUT ON A TRIP AT NIGHT WITH ALL THE LIGHTS HEATER ETC GOING AND WENT AROUND THE BACK OF THE COACH TO UNHOOK THE CAR AND THAT ALTERNATOR WAS GROWLING.THAT WAS THE FIRST NIGHT TRIP IN A WHILE.OUR COACH HAS 117K MILES , SITTING AROUND DOES NOT HELP.I BELIEVE I HAVE THE ORIGIONAL ALTERNATOR, SO OUT SHE COMES. I COULD SHOOT OUT ANOTHER POST AFTER I CHANGE IT TO SEE IF IT CLEARS UP THE BLINKING LIGHTS AT NIGHT!!
It does that on the road at 1800 rpm, changed the alternator but that did not help. the pulsation sometimes is the same in the lights and camera, yet sometimes they differ. Rather strange that Foretravel cannot help me. James at Foretravel thought it may be
a grounding issue.
Alex,
It sounds like a chassis side problem not a coach side problem. If I'm reading this correctly the camera is ok (coach side I think?) until you tie those two systems together with the boost switch.
If that's the case I wouldn't wast any time on the coach system.
Does the problem exist with the headlights off?
Boost switch on headlights off, is the camera ok?
Have you checked all the clearance lights for any water?
Look closely at any 12 volt plugs at the rear bumper.
Do the clearance lights and head lights have different fuses? Maybe you can isolate the problem that way.
What about the alternator sense wire?
Could a poor connection be causing the output voltage to fluctuate when you put a load on the system?
