Just considering some remodeling work , don't really want to get estimates before ok from DW !
1 Replace front carpet and kitchen tile with wood plank .
2 Pull out and replace shower ,sink vanity top , facets etc with latest FT design
3 Replace bathroom floor to match new shower design.
Anyone done similar that could give ballpark estimate????
Ok , this is obviously how a remodel develops.
3 Replace wall light fittings and cabinet handles to latest FT designs.
Foretravel did my floors , $6k from front to bedroom. Did not include entry steps or bedroom carpet. (Which I did later at FT for about $600, with new pad and I bought carpet remnant locally for $40.
$6k Included cost of flooring, which in my case was a 12 x 12 luxury vinyl product with 1/8" grout between tiles, installed on bias No idea on bathroom remodel
Shower change out is going to be dependent on what you have (neo-angle or rounded), and whether it is over a wheel well or has HVAC vents underneath and what you want to go with. If you keep the existing base and are just replacing the enclosure frame and glass, figure somewhere around $1k plus labor for a neo-angle surround.
Just had Living room seal replaced, carpet pulled out and new wood up to bathroom. New carpet under dining and sofa and bedroom.. including closet . rear seal with manifold
20k
Started out thinking 10k but now feeling 12k is more realistic!
Maybe should tell the boss $15k ???
We have rounded ( quarter pie shape )
Base sits over havc vents and would like to change that with enclosure
Ours had Villa seats installed, ceramic tile front to the BR, refurb window treatment & slide surround, new mattress, reupholstered sofa. Bedspread & pillows to match window treatment. Don't remember what else. Done in '09... ~$30k
We had the brass three sided (neo-angle) shower enclosure replaced with a brushed nickel one by the same manufacturer. It was custom made by a local installer to fit the space exactly, all new tempered glass. Under $1000. The door is hinged along the edge rather than a pivot point about 3" in from the edge. That makes the opening bigger. Nice.
Budget now expanded to $20k , DW on board when l youngest finishes post grad .
Now waiting on the right moment , (cocktail hour ) to suggest lifting the budget and an earlier start date .
Wait...Youngest could get a few more Masters, a Phd or two, a Certificate of Advanced Studies and a few cool electives that will burn time in Austria next summer for the Kid.
Reconsider. Don't put it off. Floor it.
But,
do wait for cocktail hour...
get your quote for floors and send me a note
I only have 36' instead of 40'. Removed old carpet, chairs, furniture, and wood floor in kitchen area myself. Paid $1,100 to have new vinyl wood floor installed. Put everything back in myself.
Before I bought the unit the previous owner paid FT $10K to remodel interior back in 1999

This is 6th year of college fees and expenses, could have bought a two year old phenix quad slide .
If Ernie Ekberg is available (he was booked way out into the future) his work is well reviewed and his price is usually very reasonable. He charges by the Day of work he does, you can help and I think you can stay in coach at his place of install if it is not too torn up.
That sounds perfect, Where is he located

Sorry, but the quotes/charges for work done are mostly outrageous as far as I am concerned. Personally do not see reason for removal/replacing the shower base and messing with all that stuff underneath but??
I have done all the above mentioned and see it as just "work". No brain surgeon stuff there to explain the rates.
