Parked the crane for 12 days and took the coach out for the first real shakedown camping trip. I will make separate posts on the issues that came up and how they were solved. The issues were ride height not working when we left, engine heating on Bishop grade, Aqua Hot smoking and turning off periodically, generator quit making a/c and overheating causing fault. Only the Aqua Hot issue is still being dealt with, all other issues were solved at the camp ground. One of the best trips DW and I have had in a long time
Doesn't sound like my idea of a good trip with those issues !
Read the solutions in the tech section. To me finding the problems and fixing or solving them while catching my limit of fish and getting out of the crane for r & r was great. The next trip is to Phoenix for the NASCAR race and It will be flawless.
NOW... "flawless" sounds like a good trip ! Good luck !
The Aqua Hot problem must have been related to the over 8,000 ft. elevation and single digit temperatures as It has not acted up since Monday and no soot on the ground.
Service on the aquahot is to decarbon the burner chamber and replace the fuel nozzle from what I have read here
That was done before the trip. If it has any more problems will repeat the service to remove any carbon the high altitude created. Next year I will add more air before going to the high altitude.
I think Rudy sets the air mixture to a medium height?
