Has anyone attached an awning drop to a Foretravel ZipDee manually operated awning? If so, how did you do it?
"Awning drop" is the term I acquired online, by doing a search for Sun Pro awning accessories — so it may be wrong or unfamiliar. What I'm talking about is the long, "sheer" panel that runs from the awning roller to the ground and shields the patio from sun.
With thanks!
I did mine. Ran a row of snaps (the male half) the full length, at 12" spacing but doubled up at the ends. Used minimum length screws after having the screws on the end towards the back of the coach inhibit the winding spring inside the tube.
OH, use stainless or even aluminum rivets.---Rust can be an issue of anything else.
We also did ours a few weeks ago using snaps and rivets. I doubled up the snaps at the ends and in the middle. Be sure not to use rivets that are too long as they may compromise the internal spring mechanism at the left end ( rear of coach ). I have to add grommets on the bottom of the shade to even the tie-downs along the shade. Another thing I am doing is making an outer poly rain cover for the shade that will connect to the shade with snaps.
Sorry about the photos, I thought I had rotated them.....rooky
Now my neck hurts Geoff. :)) Good idea though and I need to do this to our coach.
