Title: Fuel Gauge
Post by: jor on November 09, 2016, 05:33:20 pm
Well, my fuel gauge was working great. It was even accurate (first for me). Anyhow, I've had the rig up on blocks for a few weeks and I took it down today. Started right up but the "low fuel" dash light stays on. The gauge connections are fine and the Centroid wires connections on the tank are clean and shiny. Ideas? Thanks.

Runs fine. Tank is full of fuel and I'm in Arizona to boot.

I did that last year. Drove home from Florida. About 1200 miles. Ran fine for 1195 miles than started loosing power. Changed fuel filter (there.was some black gunk in the filter). My fuel gauge stopped working. After getting some fuel treatment stuff from Cummins and.using it the fuel gauge started working again

Got this fixed. Is there an award for dumba** of the year here on Foreforums? Turns out that I forgot to reattach the fuel gauge's ground wire when I installed a new LP regulator. FFR, the fuel gauge's ground is located with the LP systems ground as shown in this photo. It runs from the sending unit back to the middle of the fuel tank, back through the compartment wall and down to the big LP ground.
