Title: Washer Connections
Post by: Tim on November 14, 2016, 09:31:02 am
I would like to put a cloths washer in my 1997 U270. See the following photo. A couple of questions:

1. Were all 1997 U270s built with washer connections?
2. What is inside the cedar box in the closet?
3. Does the black plastic pipe go to the gray tank?

Thanks. Tim

Answers;
1. Yes (though it is possible someone ordered them left out...)
2. The washer drain pipe, two top hat vents, a clean out, electrical outlet for washer.
3. Depends on the floor plan. The vertical pipe goes to the roof vent and down to the black tank, the grey tank vent is on the street side in our coach. The horizontal branch that runs to the back of the closet is not in our coach (99' U270).
There are variations from coach to coach, even in the same year. Not your cookie cutter coach!
Here are a couple of pictures that may help, and a link to a topic that I detailed something about my Splendide XC2100 installation.

In the second picture, ignore the white PVC pipe. I added that as part of my freshwater overflow project. The firs picture is pretty much as I saw it when I took the cover off. The hookups for the hot and cold water is to the left in the second picture and not visible in the first.

On my RV, the connection are behind drawers and under wood shelf. I suggest pulling out drawers and look around with a flashlight to find them before you tear too much apart.

Found them by removing a drawer on the left. The connections are all there, although they have not been used since 1997. Thanks for the advice.
