Title: sewer Bay Rodent barrier
Post by: John Haygarth on November 28, 2016, 04:43:24 pm
Well with nothing much to fix on the coach I decided to make a nice cover for the sewer opening that would give suitable protection for the times when the Power cord  and/or the water hose are being used. I did not worry about the dump part as we only have that connected when actually doing that operation.
I used a piece of 1/4" plywood and cut the holes to suit each item then formed some slides and covers for each to open or close when needed. This seems to fit the bill for me and underneath I glued a piece of 1" foam to give a touch of insulation. I also made it a fairly good fit so sort of locked in position.
Pictures show the different positions possible. I am now spray painting it to help protect the wood.

I've been carrying a blue piece of styrofoam just like the one in your photos. For exactly the same type of project.

Thanks for the great idea, John

My plan once this "gizmo" has proven itself is to have one made out of Aluminum. I must say though now it is painted I am pleased with the look of it.

Once you get all the kinks worked out of the prototype, you can go into limited production of the metal version.  If you need a "test subject" to see how your final design works on older GV models, I'll volunteer to road test the free sample.
